Fabric gift bags are an eco-friendly alternative to gift wrap and can be re-used year after year. This year we have decorated our home in Farmhouse theme featuring buffalo check, and ornaments that are red, white, and natural wood. To fit with the theme, I have been sewing Farmhouse style gift bags using the Handy Drawstring Bag PDF Sewing Pattern.
I used coarse jute twine for the drawstring which fits with the rustic theme. I added appliques of snowflakes and antlers to my bags. The white motif really pops against the darker fabric. There are so many options with this bag – use coordinating fabrics for each panel; or add motifs to fit the theme.
