It is all about Easter crafting over here at the moment. One of my favourite stores, Two Blue Birdies, sent me some lovely wool felt and other supplies. I spent some time today making an Easter Bunny Egg Cosy. It turned out really cute and will be a sweet gift for some little kids we know. I am in the process of writing a tutorial for the cosy and if you pop back tomorrow, it should be ready. The egg cosy is a fun, beginner project, that kids with basic sewing skills may enjoy making.
Edit: You can find the tutorial here.
Two Blue Birdies are generously offering A Spoonful of Sugar readers the opportunity to win some of their glorious wool felt. The felt is made from Merino wool (predominantly sourced in Australia) and then felted in Europe. It is super soft, hard wearing, pill resistant and comes in a range of beautiful colours. They use non- toxic dyes which comply with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, UNE-EN 71-2 and UNE-EN 71-3 which means there are no nasties in the dyes.
To enter, simply log into the rafflecopter giveaway box below with your email address or facebook account. Do as many of the giveaway options as you wish – if you already follow A Spoonful of Sugar on facebook/pinterest etc, just click the button below for an automatic entry. Giveaway is open world wide until March 29, 2015 . The winner will be notified by email and announced here on the blog. Good Luck!
Here are some of the lovely products from Two Blue Birdies. They have a wonderful range of beautiful felt, fabrics, sewing patterns, aurifil threads, and more! Don’t forget to check back tomorrow for the tutorial to make the Bunny Egg Cosy.

Sigi G says
I used to make Baby Names from felt. I would cut out squares, lay stiff batting in between two of the squares and pin the ‘cut-out’ letter on top and sew all around. Then cut about 1/8″ around the sewn lines. Then I would tack the letters together – add some tiny rings on the back and Voila – ready to hang in Babies Room. The felt names look especially nice when using up to 3 different shades of color.
It is now sooooo hard to find felt in our area – I’ve really missed being able to keep making these. Love the colors shown. Beautiful!!
