Is it just me, or do you like starting the New Year with new stationery supplies? I like to start the new year organised so have treated myself to new stationery supplies. This meant I needed a new pouch to keep them close at hand in my sewing studio for when inspiration strikes. My latest pouch was made using the Rotary Cutter Sewing Tool pouch which is perfectly sized to hold a rotary cutter, or a range of sewing tools and stationery supplies.
I have some gorgeous fabric on my sewing table – Cotton Beach by Tilda. This collection will be released on February 1 2022. It features lovely beachy motifs such as shells, sea anemones, coral. and more. I selected the blue colourway for this pouch. To showcase the beautiful fabric I used a single fabric for each row rather than a more scrappy approach.
I used a lovely blue Tilda Chambray Basic for the flap and the bias trim. Using a Clover Bias Tape Maker, I made my own bias binding with the chambray. It really ties the fabrics together. This pattern comes together in an hour or so and the simple patchwork really showcases the fabric.
Tilda Cotton Beach is perfect for summer sewing. You can see my Mermaid Pouch here which was also constructed using this lovely new range. If you love this project, have a look at our other Tilda projects. Thanks to Two Green Zebras for providing the fabric used in this project.
You can find the Rotary Cutter Sewing Tool Pouch PDF Sewing Pattern in my Etsy Store and Pattern Shop.
