Pretty and practical, this Elastic Pencil Case attaches to your journal or notebook so you have your writing and stationery supplies at close at hand. It is easily constructed from co-ordinating quilting fabric and features a handy elastic strap so it can easily attach to your journal.
I added a sweet metal embellishment, and cotton trim. Using four co-ordinating fabrics in the same colourway or use a variety of prints for a brighter pencil case – the choice is up to you!
This project is beginner friendly and can be easily made in an afternoon. Elastic Pencil Case is a fun patchwork project to combine coordinating fabrics, such as those shown here from the Loyal Heights Range by Jera Brandvig from Quilting in the Rain for Lecien Fabrics.
You can find the pdf pattern for the Elastic Pencil Case in our Etsy store.
Loyal Heights Fabric is the latest fabric range by Jera Brandvig. It is a pretty collection featuring florals, toiles, polka dots, lace, bluebirds, and more in sweet floral shades. It includes gold details on some fabrics for a special touch. I love the soft romantic colours of this collection. It is perfect for so many projects, including the Elastic Pencil Case.

If you head over to Instagram you can check out the other lovely projects made using this soft and pretty fabric range – lots of inspiration from the other stops on the Project Tour. #loyalheightsbyjerabrandvig

Thanks Sandi – I bought some elastic from eBay, and some from Daiso. If you search for Fold Over Elastic )FOE) you should find plenty of pretty options.
