Scrap buster projects are amongst my favourite. It is always fun to incorporate your treasured scraps to make a new item so that no scrap goes unwasted. If you are looking for a fun scrap buster project for your monochromatic scraps, check out the Zakka Card Wallet.
The patchwork panel is formed using foundation paper piecing or FPP. This is an easy technique and this project is suitable for beginner foundation paper piecers. I love the herringbone design and it is a great way to incorporate 25 fabric scraps.
The Zakka Card Wallet is perfectly sized to hold a few loyalty cards, credit cards, or other small items that you need to have close at hand. I finished mine with a snap fastener but you can use your fastening of choice – e.g. button, sew in snap, velcro etc.
The Zakka Card Wallet can be easily sewn in a an afternoon. You can find the pattern in our Etsy store.
If you don’t want a scrappy look for you Zakka Card Wallet, you can use two fabrics for a different look, like the Valentines wallet I made below using pink and red fabrics.
