I made a Valentine’s Dresden Placemat to add a pop of colour and a touch of handmade to my home for Valentine’s Day. The Dresden Placemat pattern is a fun design that can be used as a placemat, mug rug, coaster, or tray mat.
I bought a charm square pack of Sincerely Yours by Moda which includes Valentines themed designs in shades of pink, red, lavender, purple and coral. The Dresden Placemat is charm square friendly for the dresden plate, plus additional yardage is required for the backing, foundation and binding. It is a fun afternoon pattern. I can’t resist making Dresden plates – such a fun scrap sewing project. This one includes 16 petals and I used 8 different coordinating fabrics.
Perfect for a Valentine’s themed afternoon tea.
I especially love the heart print used in the centre circle.
