There’s something especially satisfying about combining beautiful fabric with a practical project. Recently, I stitched two Luma Buckets using Hasting Street Linen from the Devonstone Collection, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
With their clean lines, classic shape, and timeless appeal, these fabric storage buckets are as attractive as they are useful. Whether used in a sewing room, craft space, living area, or bedroom, they’re a stylish way to keep everyday items organised.

Why I Chose Hasting Street Linen
The natural texture of Hasting Street Linen provides the perfect balance of structure and softness for storage projects. The linen gives the buckets a beautifully tailored appearance while maintaining a relaxed, modern aesthetic.
For this project, I selected coordinating natural and white linens paired with gingham linings, creating a fresh and classic look that works in a variety of interiors.
Many thanks to Devonstone Collection for providing the beautiful fabric used in these samples.

The Luma Bucket Pattern
The Luma Bucket Pattern includes instructions for two versatile sizes, making it easy to create storage solutions for different needs around the home.
These handy buckets are ideal for storing:
- Sewing supplies
- Quilting tools
- Yarn and knitting projects
- Fabric scraps
- Children’s toys
- Bathroom essentials
- Craft supplies
- Small household items
One of my favourite features is that the smaller bucket nests neatly inside the larger bucket when not in use, making storage even more practical.
Stylish Storage for Makers

One of the buckets was styled with soft balls of yarn, highlighting its suitability for knitting and crochet projects. The simple design allows the beauty of both the fabric and the contents to shine, while keeping creative supplies neatly contained.
Whether displayed on a shelf or beside a favourite chair, the Luma Bucket offers storage that’s both functional and decorative.
Organising Sewing Essentials

The second bucket was filled with a collection of sewing notions, including buttons, scissors, pins, and a thimble. This is exactly the type of project I love creating: something practical enough to use every day, yet attractive enough to leave on display.
Keeping frequently used tools close at hand makes sewing sessions more enjoyable and helps maintain an organised workspace.
Thoughtful Details

Simple details help elevate the finished project. The leather accents add a touch of sophistication and reinforce the clean, minimalist styling of the buckets.

A handmade label or tag provides the perfect finishing touch and gives the project a professional appearance.
Available in Two Sizes

The two sizes work beautifully together and can be displayed individually or paired as a coordinated storage set.

When not in use, the smaller bucket nests neatly inside the larger bucket, making them easy to store while still looking stylish on display.
A Project You’ll Use Every Day
The Luma Bucket combines timeless design with everyday practicality. Whether you’re organising sewing supplies, storing yarn, or simply looking for a stylish storage solution for your home, these fabric buckets are a rewarding project to make and use.
