Merry and Bright

November 25, 2011 By Spoonful of Sugar - 17 Comments

Christmas preparations have taken a back seat over the past week or so as three of us have been sick with a virus that is going around, which has left little energy for crafting and such. Fortunately we are all on the mend now! We have a few projects planned this week to finish off most of our Christmas decorations, just in time to decorate the tree in early December. We are really pleased with how our Red and Aqua Christmas is shaping up.

Sarah has designed a Christmas print that is sized to  fit in a sweet Aqua frame that we bought at Typo (7 1/2 ” x 9 1/2 “/ 19 x 24 cm). This is a fun way to add some holiday colour and festive cheer to our mantlepiece, and then the frame can be re-purposed to hold a favourite family photo once Christmas is over.

If you would like to download the print pdf, you can find it here.

If you enjoy painting, there is a fabulous tutorial to make a stencilled sign over at Tatertots and Jello in our favourite colours of red and aqua.

For your daily sugar fix you can follow us on facebook and twitter.

Oh Lisa, I am so sorry to hear you have all been unwell. Nothing worse than a virus in summer. 🙁
Glad you are on the mend, and I have to tell you that I LOVE Sarah’s Christmas sign. Love those colours too! I remember when Carrie from A Passion for Applique did them a few years back and I have wanted to follow suit ever since.
    Hugs

this is very cute. Am I correct that I have to be a member of Squib in order to download it? Is there a free way? I’d love to use that this year! Thanks for sharing

Sharing a closer look at the Handy Drawstring Pouc Sharing a closer look at the Handy Drawstring Pouch today — a sweet little project that’s as practical as it is pretty. I stitched this one in the blue and gold colourway of the Tilda Songbird collection and love how the soft watercolour florals shine in a small make. The pouch features cleverly shaped panels (with no boxed corners), stands tall when in use, and folds completely flat for storage. It’s also reversible, which makes it such a fun and versatile sew.   These little pouches are perfect for organising your sewing room, gifting to a friend, or popping into a project bag.The pattern includes three sizes, and you can find it in both my Pattern Store and Etsy shop. Comment HANDY and I’ll send the link straight to your inbox.A big thank you to @tilda_australia for gifting the beautiful fabric.#tildasongbird #drawstringbagpattern #aspoonfulofsugardesigns #tildafabrics #sewingproject
