Love to Bake Pot Holder

September 19, 2016 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 7 Comments

Love to Bake Pot Holder

Sewing and baking are two of my favourite pastimes. I would love a sweet floral Kitchenaid like the one I made using fabric from the Flower Sugar Paisley Wind collection. I combined two of the patterns from my book, A Spoonful of Sugar, to make this Love to Bake Pot Holder.

Love to Bake Pot Holder

The pot holder features a Kitchenaid and mixing bowl and is a fun project to practice your raw edge applique (or sewing illustration).

Love to Bake Pot HolderThe pot holder features a sweet ruffle and a handy pocket.

For this project I reduced the Love to Bake Wall Art and printed out the template at 78%. This made it the perfect size to fit the Gorgeous Gingham Pot Holders. You can find the template and full instructions in my book, A Spoonful of Sugar. I wanted to let my Aussie readers know that my book will be released in Australia on October 1, 2016. Ask for it at your local bookshop.

Love to Bake Wall Art, and Gorgeous Gingham Pot Holder from A Spoonful of Sugar.

This project uses Flower Sugar Paisley Wind, the new collection of Flower Sugar fabric by Lecien Fabrics that will be released in Spring 2017. This range has small and large print florals that feature polka dots and paisley, and is available in shades of red, aqua, pink, grey, and white. The lovely feature of Flower Sugar is that is always combines so well with earlier releases.

Your mixer sure reminds me of the hand painted mixer Ree Drummond uses on the pioneer woman. Wish I was a painter!

I’d love a floral Kitchenaid too. The spotty one wouldn’t be too bad either 😉
