I used the Chick Coaster Mug Rug pattern to make a pair of hen coasters. I combined low volume prints white/ivory with a grey design for the body and chest of the hen. I added orange beak, black eyes, and a red wool felt comb to finish it off. Constructed in under an hour which makes it a fun project to work on after work or on the weekend.
The hen coaster would make a fun gift for a chicken lover or children who love barnyard animals.
This beginner friendly pattern is such a fun little make and a great way to use your favourite low volume scraps. You will find it hard to stop at one! I now have a whole flock of chicks and hens in various fabrics.
