Looking for a lovely quilted gift to make for a friend or yourself? The Heavenly Heatpack is pretty and practical. Featuring a strip of flying geese patchwork blocks centred on a cosy waffle weave cover, it will soothe aching muscles.
The Heavenly Heatpack was made using newly released Waffle Weave from Devonstone Collections paired with fabric from the upcoming Creating Memories range by Tilda. I used the Summer and Ocean Blues colourway. The fabric include small print florals and classic yarn dyed fabrics in checks/stripes/dots. This is a classic range that is perfect for so many projects. It comes in four distinct seasons which are perfect to mix and matchw ith each other and other fabrics in the Tilda fabric collections.
For the flying geese units, I used a white linen fabric for the geese, and then used assorted fabrics from Creating Memories for the sky for a scrappy patchwork effect.
The Heavenly Heatpack has a rectangular insert filled with dried wheat grains. You could use rice, lupins, or your dried grain of choice.
Included in the pattern are 6 gift tags featuring flying geese in different colours and a tag that details the heating instructions. You can easily print these at home on cardstock and attach them to the gift.
If you are looking for a quilted gift to make for someone special, you can’t go past the Heavenly Heatpack. It is perfect to soothe aching muscles and provide gentle soothing warmth. It can be easily made in an afternoon. The 15 page epattern includes detailed illustrations to guide you through the construction process.
