Tilda Wallflower is a beautifully ornamental fabric collection inspired by the design styles of the 1960s and 70s. The name “Wallflower” evokes memories of dancing school, where the designer, Tone Finnanger, found herself blending into the floral wallpaper of the ballroom. The collection features two distinct color stories—one with vintage reds, greens, pinks, and hints of blue and sour yellow, and another with caramel, blue, ginger, ochre, and thistle tones. These nostalgic hues bring a romantic and whimsical touch to quilting and sewing projects. You can find Tilda fabric here.

With this stunning fabric range, I created a Dresden Needlebook and a pair of Sewing Buddy Pincushions—both perfect gifts for sewists.

The Dresden Needlebook showcases intricate piecing and a charming vintage aesthetic, making it a delightful way to store needles in style.

The Sewing Buddy Pincushions, designed as a coordinating set, add a practical yet decorative touch to any sewing space. Whether gifted individually or as a matching duo, these handmade treasures celebrate the artistry of sewing while embracing the nostalgic beauty of the Wallflower collection.

Bringing together the nostalgic charm of Tilda Wallflower fabric with the joy of handmade gifts, the Dresden Needlebook and Sewing Buddy Pincushions offer both beauty and practicality for any sewist. Whether created as a coordinated set or gifted individually, these projects highlight the artistry of sewing while celebrating timeless design. The delicate patterns and rich color stories of Wallflower elevate each stitch, making these keepsakes cherished additions to any sewing collection. There’s something truly special about crafting with fabrics that tell a story—and Wallflower is the perfect canvas for bringing those stories to life.

Thanks to Two Green Zebras for providing the fabric used in these projects.
