We love the look of river stones used as a decorating accent. We pinched some river stones from our garden, and have been practising engraving them with our Dremel.
This is a fun and simple craft. You just need an assortment of rocks/river stones. Flat rocks work best. You can trace your design on the rock or just engrave freehand. We used a Dremel 3000 with a Diamond Point (#7103) and Collet (#481) (and wore safety glasses). We definitely got better with practice. We held the Dremel like a pen and just went slowly .
We filled a little dish with the rocks and placed them in our guest powder room. We now have loads of ideas for other engraved rock projects.
