Elastic Pencil Pouch

June 20, 2020 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 3 Comments

The Elastic Pencil Pouch is is a fun, beginner friendly pattern that can be easily constructed in around an hour. I had the perfect printed linen fabric in my stash – featuring drawing pins, paperclips, scissors and bulldog clips. The fabric was from the Korean brand – Nesshome,

A handy feature of this pencil case is the elastic strap which allows the pencil case to attach to a journal or notebook so you always have a few pens on hand. Do you like my orange vintage stapler? It belonged to my grandparents.

You can find the PDF Sewing pattern for the Elastic Pencil Case in my Etsy store.

Be warned – it is hard to stop at one! They are a great way to use some of your favourite fabric “scraps” and make great gifts for students heading back to school.

Do pencils actually fit in the pencil case? The ones in the photo look like they would not.

Hi Laura – those pencils were used for decoration. The pencil case fits most pens and smaller pencils. It was sized to fit on a journal but you could easily adapt it to a larger size to fit longer pencils if required.
