Don’t You Just Love Getting Mail?

April 8, 2008 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 17 Comments

Sarah and I arrived home from school and work today to a lovely package from our swap partner, Tania. We participated in our first ever scrap swap at Melly and Me. Tania sent us some lovely goodies – some luscious “scraps”, buttons, ribbons, and a lovely bag pattern that she designed herself. We felt really spoilt with all the crafty goodness. I am looking forward to making the bag and have some good ideas to use those lovely pieces of fabric. Stay tuned…

On the weekend, I made up a little book mark pyramid – perfect for holding those thick recipe books open at the right page (inspired by “Get Creative” magazine). You will see my Mini Lime Syrup Cakes in the background (from “How To Be a Domestic Goddess”) and they are full of sweet syrupy flavour. I thought I would make up a batch of the book mark pyramids for all the high school students I know – they are perfect for holding those thick textbooks open at the right page!

Edit: The pyramid was made using a triangle measuring 17 cm on each side, and it was filled with rice.

Well, I obviously love the edible goodies…what fool wouldn’t?!!? 😉 but it’s that lovely weighted page holder. Any chance you can share the details? The mag is only the current issue for which I am grateful for now I have an actual guide for the apron I’m making.

Hellooo, I “snuck” over from your comment at Lululollylegs — what a fun blog you have! I’ve enjoyed reading back over some of your posts. Love that you have two ovens — I couldn’t survive without both of mine. And this little book pyramid is just fabulous — what a great idea! What did you stuff it with?

This was a great idea for small gifts for friends. I always put a plate or something else on my books to keep it down.
