Deer Silhouette Drawstring Gift Bags

December 1, 2015 By A Spoonful of Sugar - Leave a Comment

Drawstring Gift Bags with Deer Silhouette made by A Spoonful of Sugar

We have been working on some Christmas crafts this week. Our latest sewing project are these silhouette drawstring gift bags made to coordinate with our Metallic Christmas theme. I found the perfect fabric for the gift bags – Mirror Ball Dot in Snow by Michael Miller Fabrics – it has shiny pearl dots on a white background. They add some luxe to the project and suit our Metallic theme, whilst still being a great low volume background fabric. Gift bags are a fun way to package small items and add a home made touch. Drawstring bags can be easily repurposed as they are really handy to store lots of small items.

I made a basic drawstring bag (measuring 6 x 8 inches) using satin rattail cord for the drawstring. I added a silhouette of a deer head using black heat transfer material. I cut the image out with my Silhouette Portrait and then ironed it in place. It was my first time using heat transfer material and it was easy to use – I am now dreaming up lots of uses for it. I found the deer head design at the Silhouette design store.

Drawstring Gift Bags with Deer Silhouette made by A Spoonful of SugarThis was such a quick, fun way to make a personalised gift bag for Christmas.
