As you know, Sarah and I love anything cupcake related. I was inspired when I bought a stack of these pretty Robert Gordon baking cases from Spotlight to make some cupcakes of the ineditible variety. I made the little “cupcakes” to use as a baby shower decoration – they were fun and quick to assemble. I think they would also make sweet little gifts to tuck into a gift basket for a Mum-to-Be.
If you want to make some, here’s what you need:
Materials:
White face cloth
Paper Baking Cases
Comforter/dummy
Ribbon
Ric rac trim
Fold the face cloth into a strip that is slightly wider that the height of the baking case. Roll it up tightly and insert it into the baking case. Position a length of ric rac around the baking case and secure it with a piece of double sided tape. Position the comforter in the top of the “cupcake” and decorate it with a ribbon.
You could also make these by rolling up little singlets or onesies. If you want to make it suitable for another occasion, you could pop in a wash cloth and use a bath bead or small guest soap as the cherry on top.

Cute Cute Cute – but thankgod I am passed that stage now! – Ella is now 4 and tells me she can do everything!
Sweet idea! The ric rac embellishment is just darling!
Very partial to cupcakes myself, and these are just the cutest! Another great idea girls xxx
Clever & nearly edible! TTFN ~ Marydon
I’ve been away from blogland for a couple of weeks with summer travels, and my – how busy you have been! I absolutely love your clever ideas and recipes. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
OOOhhhh I have some of these cupcake patty pans in pink polka dots floating around here somewhere.I’ll have to check out where and experiment 🙂 Barb.
That is the all-time cutest cupcake I have ever seen. What a cute gift idea…or party favor. Love it!
Too cute!!
those might just be the cutest cupcakes ever!
I’m actually planning a baby shower right now. These will look adorable on the tables. Thanks so much for the idea.
OH so sweet. I could see myself making these for christmas prezzies for the girls at work, without the pacifiers OF COURSE.
xx Linda
So deliciously cute! You always come up with clever ideas.
Oh they are adorable, what a great idea!
Those are just too cute.
That is a really cute idea. I love the way the cupcakes look and that you could modify for other gift giving.
Wonderful idea! I’m not familiar with the baking cases. Not looking in the right places I guess.
Interesting how we use different words for the same thing. Your “comforter” is our “pacifier”. Say “comforter” here and a puffy quilt for our beds comes to mind. Oh, I love having international friends!
Those are adorable. I love the idea. Will definitely use this for the next shower/baby gift. THanks for sharing.
Just adorable..what more can I say..Love//Eva
Such a cute and clever idea!
Way cool!
Thanks for sharing!
The cupcake gifts are adorable! I love all things cupcake, too. The ric rac is a sweet touch (I was going to say ‘the icing on the cake’ but that was just too corny :-).
What a great idea! I’ll definately use this one. The quilt I’m making as a baby present isn’t quite going as planned so may be using this idea tomorrow!!!
What a great idea. I like the way is can be adapted to be a general gift with a change to the embellishment on the top.
They are adorable, very sweet and creative 🙂
Oh how sweet and adorable! Great idea Sarah! You’re good at those!!!
Hugs! Vikki xoxo

I love them. What a wonderful job and now even I could do that.
Love Renee xoxo
I love the idea – and I also love the difference here in the use of the languages – to me a comforter is a puffy blanket, so I was looking for that and couldn’t figure it out until I looked closer and we call those ‘binkies’ – oh how sometimes you can not live without them.
Love your blog!
Happy crafting!
Bev
