Christmas Paper Crafts + {Giveaway} Win a Cricut Mini Digital Cutter

November 13, 2012 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 227 Comments

Making decorations and gifts for Christmas, is our favourite type of craft! At this time of year, our Cricut machine gets a good work out – making Christmas tags, cards, decorations, favour boxes, table decorations, and gifts. One of the best features of the Cricut is that it can cut a wide variety of papers, card, vinyl, etc so that you can put your own special touch on your projects.
As you can see, we love the reindeer die cut from Very Merry Tags, and have used it on gift tags, on gift boxes, to decorate a lantern, and more. We even used our Cricut to cut pillow boxes and gift boxes to use as part of our Christmas Table last year.

We recently reviewed Cricut’s latest machine, the Cricut Mini, and you can read our review here. What we love most about this machine is that it is small and compact. It can be easily hooked up via a USB cable to your computer. Once you have installed the software, you can access lots of free images at the Cricut Craft Room. You can also use cartridges with the mini or you can purchase digital images online. There are loads of project ideas to get your started.

Cricut are generously giving A Spoonful of Sugar readers, the opportunity to win a Cricut Mini (valued at US$129.99). To enter, log in to the Raflecopter giveaway box below with your email address or facebook account and follow the steps. Do as many of the giveway options as you wish – if your already follow A Spoonful of Sugar or Cricut on facebook/pinterest, just click the button below for an automatic entry.

Giveaway is open world wide until November 21. Good Luck! The winner will be notified by email and announced on the blog. The winner will have a week to claim their prize.

Also wanting to make something to hang my christmas cards on at home, they make a house look so festive!

I’m currently working on our cards with overlapping ornament stamps, I got everything together for a new wreath, and I always make my sequinned balls each year by putting a pushpin through a sequin and inserting (approximately 1 million) of them into a Styrofoam ball. They turn out so pretty!

♥♥I’m making funky christmas tags with a South-African twist…think designs of “Springbok” instead of reindeer, “baobab-tree” instead of traditional xmas tree and probably some quirky “snowman” not from snow, but from mud (due to all the rain we had lately…!) Convinced that the Cricut Mini will be very happy and much utilised here in sunny SA!♥♥

Wow, the cricut mini digital cutter looks amazing. If I was so blessed to win one I would be making all my own labels for my handmade Christmas presents and tags for my scrapbook and recipe folder. It would also really come in handy for my wedding place settings and invitations. I would love love love it!!!

Introducing my latest make—the Dresden Needleboo Introducing my latest make—the Dresden Needlebook! ✂️💖This little beauty is practical, charming, and packed with personality. For this version, I dove into my stash of small Japanese florals, mainly from the fabulous Atsuko Matsuyama, pairing a pink and aqua Dresden plate with a bright yellow center for a pop of cheer. The base? Sweet polka dots, finished with aqua gingham binding for a classic touch!Inside, I added fruit labels and appliqués for extra charm, and the felt pages (in a stunning pink wool felt!) keep pins and needles neatly in place. Plus, with two internal pockets, there’s space for all those little sewing essentials. The Dresden Needlebook has been one of my most-loved patterns this year! Want the pattern?
