Doiley Gift Tags

November 1, 2012 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 12 Comments

Doilies, gingham, buttons – these are some of our favourite things.  We made some simple Doiley Gift tags for Christmas. We are loving the classic white and red colours for our Christmas projects this year.

Using some thick textured white card, we cut 3 inch tags with our Cricut Die-Cutting Machine (using the Very Merry Tags Cartridge). We adhered a piece of white paper doiley, added a button tied on with stripey bakers twine, and attached a small silver key (found in the wedding favour aisle at a craft store).

We now have the Christmas gift wrapping sorted! Time to start planning some gifts.

Edit: We use glue dots for our adhesive on this type of project.

    Hi,

these look fantastic. I always have trouble attaching things and making it look smooth, what sort of adhesive do you use to attach the doiley’s to the card?

Dear Lisa and Sarah,These are so attractive and creative. I am so envious of your Cricket machine.Just from the infomercial I have seen, it looks like the possibilities are endless. It must be wonderful to do these type of things with your daughter. I have four beautiful daughters and they are so creative.I think it is so wonderful when the daughter is prettier and smarter than the mother. Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing!

Sharing a closer look at the Handy Drawstring Pouc Sharing a closer look at the Handy Drawstring Pouch today — a sweet little project that’s as practical as it is pretty. I stitched this one in the blue and gold colourway of the Tilda Songbird collection and love how the soft watercolour florals shine in a small make. The pouch features cleverly shaped panels (with no boxed corners), stands tall when in use, and folds completely flat for storage. It’s also reversible, which makes it such a fun and versatile sew.   These little pouches are perfect for organising your sewing room, gifting to a friend, or popping into a project bag.The pattern includes three sizes, and you can find it in both my Pattern Store and Etsy shop. Comment HANDY and I’ll send the link straight to your inbox.A big thank you to @tilda_australia for gifting the beautiful fabric.#tildasongbird #drawstringbagpattern #aspoonfulofsugardesigns #tildafabrics #sewingproject
