Cathedral Window Pillow

September 2, 2015 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 9 Comments

Cathedral Window Pillow made using pdf pattern from https://www.etsy.com/shop/aspoonfullofsugar

My first patchwork project was a pair of Cathedral Window Pillows that I made to sit on my bed when I was in my teens.  I have always loved Cathedral Window Patchwork and have made quite a number of pillows over the years. including the one I made for Homespun Magazine which you can see here. This technique still looks fresh and modern today and is much easier that it looks! When Lecien Fabrics sent me some of their Flower Sugar Fall 2015 range I knew just how to use it. With the white foundation squares, the colourful and pretty Flower Sugar range really pops in this Cathedral Window Pillow.  It looks amazing with my white doona cover.

The pillow is made using our Cathedral Window Pillow PDF Pattern which is available for immediate download in our Pattern Shop and Etsy store. The back features three fabrics from the range plus some sweet self cover buttons.

I have never attempted the Cathedral Window technique/pattern it really does look complicated. Yet your pillow looks so beautiful with the this technique and fabrics that you chose. I may have to give it a try. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful creative day!

      Hi Chris

The long spools have silk thread on them and I bought them from a flea market in Paris a few years ago. I love vintage haberdashery supplies 🙂
