8 Laundry Craft Projects

July 19, 2014 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 5 Comments

8 Laundry Craft ProjectsI am in the laundry a lot – it is where I cut and press fabric for my sewing projects. It gets a lot of natural light so we take most of our craft and baking photos there as well. Then there is the washing, folding, ironing …. Even though the laundry is a utility room, it can still inspire some sewing/craft projects. Here is a roundup of some of our most popular laundry craft projects, tutorials and patterns that would look great in any laundry!

Make+Your+Own+Laundry+Bag+1

Make a travel sized laundry bag to separate your dirty clothing in your suitcase. Made from a printed ripstop nylon, they are lightweight and fold up small in your suitcase. Check out our tutorial.

A Spoonful of Sugar Designs - Pretty Peg Bucket - Cover

Keep your pegs organised in your laundry and on the washing line with this handy peg bucket. The pattern is available in our Etsy and Pattern Shop.

Guest+Towel+with+Crochet+Trim+1

A plain hand towel looks great with a pretty fabric border and a crocheted edge. Check out our tutorial for all the details.

Coat+Hanger+Cover++++1

Dress up a plain wire coat hanger with some pretty fabric and felt flowers. See our tutorial for full project instructions.

Charm Square Laundry Bag

Charm Square Laundry Bag features a patchwork panel made from charm squares. It is a great size for kids to store their laundry for wash day.

Dust+Cover

Protect special garments with a fabric dust cover.

Delicates wash bag

Make a zippered wash bag for your delicates using sheer fabric. Check out project details here.

Wash+Dry+Fold+Repeat

We made some vinyl lettering for our laundry    Wash . Dry . Fold . Repeat .    ( just in case we forget the drill! )  Find more details here.

It is fun adding some home-made details to each room of the house!

You are an inspiration! I generally consider it a victory if I manage to keep the the top surface of *either* the washer *or* the dryer clear of clutter, but now you are making me consider investing a little thought and time into making the laundry zone not only tidy but visually pleasant. Thanks 🙂
