The Instagram Sew Along for my book, A Spoonful of Sugar has just concluded. It has been fantastic (and quite overwhelming – in a good way) to see all the creative projects that have been made and shared over on Instagram. Head over to Instagram to see all the gorgeous makes. Be sure check out the #aspoonfulofsugarsal hashtag.
For readers who are not on Instagram, I wanted to share some of the amazing projects that have been made. Our lovely guest judge, Amy Sinibaldi, from Nana Company, has done a fantastic job in selecting our winners each round – it wouldn’t have been easy – there were so many worthy entries. I loved seeing how everyone put their own creative twist on the projects. Check out our previous posts, Sew Along Fun and Sew Along Fun (Part 2), to see our earlier winners. Our winners have won some amazing prize bundles from Ministry of Fabric. Alisha stocks a fantastic range of fabrics and supplies for quilters, sewers, dressmakers and crafters.
The winner of Round 5, was @saija_elina who made this sweet Cathedral Window Pincushion. We love the fussy cut letters that spell out LOVE – so effective in the pink and black palette.
For Round 6, entrants were asked to submit a collage showing their make during the SAL. Our Grand prize Winner is @eliseandemelie who made some wonderful projects, including this Treasure Bag – that she added some hand crocheted lace and sweet stitching details.
Our Runner up @mandikalf also made some fantastic projects during the Sew Along, as shown in her collage below.
Here are some of the wonderful projects that were made during the last few weeks of the Sew Along.
Gorgeous Gingham Pot Holder made by @chia.poli ; Dress Form Sachets by @lupe72; Sewing Portfolio by @mandikalf; and Dress Form Lavender Sachets by @snugglefriends.
Cathedral Window Pincushion by @samanthamackie31; Sashiko Placemat by @coleandtaffy; Fabric Gift Basket by @devonsews; and Boutique Baby Bib by @mandikalf.
Thank you so much to everyone who joined in the Sew Along. It really means so much.
I wanted to let my Australian readers know that A Spoonful of Sugar will be available in quilt and book stores from October 2016. If you have a store and would like to stock it, it is available to order from our Australian distributor, Peribo.
