Top 10 Craft Projects

December 29, 2015 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 4 Comments

Craft CollageWe certainly had a busy year in 2015 but plan to be back here in 2016 with lots more sewing, craft, and baking projects to share. It is hard to believe that this will be our 9th year here at A Spoonful of Sugar – it has certainly gone fast! Thanks for the lovely feedback on our Top 10 Sewing Tutorials from 2015, and all the interest you have shown in my book – A Spoonful of Sugar: Sew 20 Simple Projects to Sweeten Your Surroundings Zakka Style (available for pre-order from Amazon and Book Depository).

Following on from our Top 10 Sewing Tutorials of 2015, we have now put together our top 10 crafty projects from the year. Although sewing is our first love, we also love to dabble in a wide range of crafts. In this round-up you will find a mix of craft projects including: crochet, DIY, vinyl, gift wrapping, and origami. It is always fun to reflect back on all the posts we have done over the year. Most of these projects can be easily completed in a hour or so, and many are suitable for kids. Click on the title under the photo to be taken to the original post.

Drawstrings are such a small detail, but they make Drawstrings are such a small detail, but they make a big difference. The cord you choose can completely change the look and feel of your handmade bags — from soft and pretty to sturdy and structured.I love using Japanese cords for their beautiful colours and smooth finish, but you’ll also find great options at your local sewing, quilt, or craft store. I usually buy cords that are 2–4 mm thick (0.08 - 0.16 inches thick) and pick up 2–3 yards/metres at a time so I always have some on hand.Save this post for your next project, and comment DRAWSTRING for a link to some of my favourite drawstring patterns.#drawstringbag #sewingprojects #sewingcommunity #sewingtips #handmadebags
