Christmas Decorating

December 16, 2015 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 2 Comments

Christmas Decorating - www.aspoonfulofsugardesigns.com

We love how our Christmas decorating is coming together this year for our Metallic Christmas –  it looks so elegant and classical. We love changing our colours/theme each year – we buy a few new pieces, use decorations from previous years that match and find items around our home that we can give a Christmas twist. One of the things we love about Christmas is making a few decorations – being creative really helps to put you in the Christmas spirit. On our mantelpiece, you will spy our Beaded Christmas Tree, Merry and Bright Christmas sign (made from an old blackboard), a copper cookie cutter from our kitchen, and a jar filled with plain white candles.

The “kids” decorate the tree each year. It looks pretty with gold, silver, and white decorations. We have had the tree for over 20 years … each year it seems to shed more of its foliage.

We have scattered some origami stars around our living room. We used a tea towel with a geometric print as a table runner on our coffee tables. We love our Naughty or Nice Jar from Target.

In our first home, our kitchen was decorated in a country style with a few copper items. I found them packed away in our garage and they have been given a new lease of life in our decorating. Copper is right on trend at the moment and works so well with our metallic theme.

We located a few other copper, iron, and pewter items for our side table.

A large jar was filled with plain white candles and tied with black ribbon.

Hope you are enjoying your Christmas decorating. May your days be Merry and Bright!

Love your Christmas decorations! The copper looks so pretty. Metallic picks up so well on the twinkly lights, and the injection of black is tres chic! Love all your craft and baking ideas too.
