Crochet Coasters

October 4, 2015 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 14 Comments

Crochet coasters by A Spoonful of Sugar

If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen the Crochet Coasters I have been making recently. Coasters are a great portable project and they are perfect for using up left over yarn. Each coaster can be made in around 15 minutes and they are great for beginner crocheters. Made from a few basic stitches, they are quick to master. I love to make them in front of the TV at night.

There are so many fantastic free coaster tutorials available. Check out our Crochet Love Pinterest page for some inspiration.

Crochet coasters by A Spoonful of SugarCoasters make lovely little gifts. Given individually or as a set, they are a sweet and practical gift. I have packaged some in cellophane bags and attached a mini heart tag. I plan to make some more as Christmas gifts.

My Grandmother used to make these coasters and give them as gifts also. I did also, but no longer crochet. Thanks for sharing and inspiring. Have a wonderful creative day!

I love these coasters! In looking through your Pinterest page, this pattern appears to be from Cynthia’s Handiwork blog which is currently not available. Could you email me the pattern, please?

Oh you two girls always show us such tempting projects – and always always photographed so beautifully! Love seeing what you’ve been up to. Adore that red coaster photo with the spotty spoon! And don’t you think white coasters would make lovely tree decorations.

Hmmm, I miss crocheting and I hardly ever finish a project. I have so much yarn stashed around the house from abandoned afghan projects…I think I’m going to try these. I knew you’d get me crafting again…eventually. 🙂

I’m a novice crocheter and found these gorgeous coasters which I’d like to make.

Could you please let me know the type of thread you used in these particular ones (http://aspoonfulofsugardesigns.com/2015/10/crochet-coasters/)?

    Love your website!

    Thank you.

Hi Jo – The yarn I used in these coasters are Moda Vera which is a Spotlight brand. It is a cotton acrylic blend and crochets up well.

        One more thing please …

Can you please share which pattern you used for these exact coasters? The various links on this page don’t seem to be the same style of coasters that you’ve made here.
