A Spoonful of Sugar Blog Tour {Part 4}

May 14, 2016 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 3 Comments

A Spoonful of Sugar Blog Tour

The Blog Tour for my book, A Spoonful of Sugar, is taking us around the world as we visit my creative friends. As you will see, I have an amazing bunch of ladies sharing their projects from A Spoonful of Sugar. I love how they have put their own creative spin on the projects – so many inspiring ideas! Throughout the tour, I will be sharing round-ups of the talented bloggers and their lovely projects.  Don’t forget to check out {part 1} and {part 2} and {part 3}.

Peta Peace from She Quilts A Lot

I first discovered Peta on Instagram where she shares her lovely quilts and sewing projects. Peta has a great eye for colour and design. Peta generously shares some fantastic sewing tutorials with her readers over on her blog, She Quilts A Lot. Peta has designed some lovely patterns for quilts, mini quilts, and accessories such as those shown below. Head over to her online store to see her sweet pattern collection.

For the Blog Hop, Peta created two gorgeous projects – the Pretty Patchwork Jewellery Wrap and the Door Stop. I absolutely love the sweet fabric she used in her jewellery Wrap – so pretty – and the stripey binding is absolute perfection! The wrap features three internal zippered pockets and is really handy to store jewellery when travelling or to store any number of items. Head over to Peta’s blog for all the details and to see the other lovely project she made.

Faith Essenburg from Sarana Ave

I met Faith last year on Instagram when she was participating in a Sew Along. Faith’s enthusiasm for sewing is infectious and visiting her feed is always uplifting. She is always ready with an encouraging comment. Faith shares her sewing adventures over on her blog, Sarana Ave. She recently shared a great tutorial for making a Ruffle Zipper (see below) which is a pretty addition to a box pouch.

For the Blog Hop, Faith created two lovely projects in her signature style using her favourite Liberty fabric prints. She made this sweet Jewellery Wrap which she will use to store her English Paper Piecing projects. Faith added some hand stitching detail to the binding which is the perfect finishing touch. Head over to Faith’s blog for more details and to see the gorgeous Liberty Cathedral Window Pin Cushion that she also made.

Angie Wilson from Gnome Angel

Angie can be found over at Gnome Angel where she shares her colourful and creative projects, free tutorials, recipes, and regular Link Love column. I first discovered Angie’s wonderful style when I spotted her clever colour block photos over on Instagram. She sources the best props for her photos and they remind me of the “Eye Spy” books that my kids used to love. Angie is part of the Farmers Wife 1930’s Sampler Quilt-A-Long and shares lots of helpful tutorials.

For the Blog Hop, Angie made a lovely Nautical Treasure Bag using her favourite Tula Pink fabric. I am sure you will agree that she has used the fabric to great effect – octopus, anchor, buoys – perfection. She also sourced the perfect octopus ribbon for a sweet tag. Head over to Angie’s blog for all the project details.

Sharon Burgess from Lilabelle Lane Creations

I first met the talented Sharon from Lilabelle Lane Creations over on instagram where I fell in love with her wonderful sewing room. Sharon has recently released her own original quilt patterns and you can find all the details here. She also shares  a range of free sewing tutorials over on her blog and sells quilt patterns and Fussy Cutting Viewers over on her Etsy store.
