Tea-rrific: A Tea-Rex Cup.

June 6, 2014 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 6 Comments

Tea-Rex Mug

We have become a household of tea drinkers. With the colder weather, the teens have been joining me in a cup of tea and we are sampling lots of new blends and flavours.

I had a request to make a Tea-Rex Mug, so that has been my quick craft this week.

Tea-rrific Mug

Using my digital cutting machine, I cut out a small Tyrannosaurus Rex and the words “Tea-Rex” from black vinyl and attached them to a plain white cup. It turned out really well and would make a fun gift idea for a tea drink. You could package it with some tea and tea accoutrements. Best of all, it was designed, cut, and on the cup in under 30 minutes. Loving quick craft at the moment!

We have been brainstorming some other fun captions for a tea-cup – Sereni-Tea; Insanti-Tea; and Craf-Tea. What ideas do you have for a tea-cup cation?

I love it. I’m sure it’s only hand washable. Does the vinyl stick through the soap? I never used it before. So cute!

Kelly – the vinyl is safe in the dishwasher. I have another cup that I decorated with vinyl 2 years ago and it is still going strong and i only use the dishwasher for it.

I love this, never even thought to use vinyl before as never thought it would survive numerous washes but I saw your comment above, so that’s great. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Vinyl is a great way to decorate cups etc. I haven’t had a problem with it washing off in the dishwasher. I guess if it did eventually you could always peel if all off and start again.
