Denim Cafe Apron

May 8, 2016 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 2 Comments

Denim Cafe Apron from A Spoonful of Sugar (book)

It is Mother’s Day in Australia today and I always love to make something handmade for my Mum. My Mum has recently taken up quilting and is thoroughly enjoying her new hobby. I made her an apron she can use to hold her craft supplies or else use in the kitchen.

The apron features a few rows of sashiko style stitching along the bottom. I used a variegated thread in grey which works well with the linen. The patchwork pocket is a great way to showcase some of your favourite scraps. I added a small label and a ribbon tag. The pocket is divided into two sections.Denim Cafe Apron from A Spoonful of Sugar (book)

I’m sure your Mum will enjoy her gift – it’s so pretty. We celebrate Mothers Day in March but I think every day is a Mothers Day 🙂
