One of my children is a big anime fan and loves the Studio Ghibli film, My Neighbour Totoro. When I spotted a crochet pattern for a Totoro, I knew I had to make one. Totoro is such a lovely animated movie. In the film, Totoro has a leaf on his head for protection from the rain. This pattern includes directions for the crochet leaf which is a fun addition.
You can find details of Totoro (available in 3 sizes) over at Lucy Ravenscar – Crochet Creatures. The pattern was easy to follow and fun to make while watching TV over the past week. I made it using DMC Natura Cotton in grey, cream, white, and black. The green for the leaf was Moda Vera Beetle (cotton/acrylic). Totoro is such a cute pattern and is perfect to make for an anime lover! If you enjoy making amigurumi patterns, you will love this crochet Totoro.
If you are ever in Tokyo, you must visit Studio Ghibli , a museum dedicated to the anime films made by Studio Ghibli. It is an interesting and entertaining museum and children/teens will enjoy the visit.
