Men’s Business Card Wallet

July 25, 2014 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 8 Comments

Men's Business Card Wallet

Do you remember the Business Card Wallet we made a few weeks ago? We have made another version – this time using some grey gabardine (suit fabric) with contrasting black/white printed cotton, and some leather trim. We were gifted a bag of leather offcuts (thanks Mum!) and have been wanting to incorporate leather into a few projects to give them a more “manly” look. We love the texture and grain of leather and it is great for adding small accents to sewing projects. We used Schmetz Leather needles in our Pffaf sewing machine which have a slight cutting point which pierces the leather. We used regular cotton thread and it was easy to sew. The great thing about leather is that it doesn’t fray so it makes for great accents.

If you would like to make your own Men’s Business Card Wallet, follow the our sewing tutorial for the Business Card Wallet.  Cut a piece of leather that is 1 inch wide x the width of your wallet. Stitch the strip of leather across the bottom of the wallet in Step 4 before sewing the sides of the wallet together. We omitted the tag in our Men’s version.

Business Card Wallet for MenThis was another quick craft project that was made in well under an hour.

We have a few more quick men’s sewing and craft projects that we will be sharing over the coming weeks, in the lead up to Father’s Day in September.

You can find our Business Card Wallet tutorial here:

What a beautiful idea! Although I’m certain it’d take more longer than an hour… 🙂 Practice makes perfect, however! Thanks for sharing!

The store I mentioned in the post has closed. If you go to this link on Etsy you will find some tape in a similar style:
