More Masking Tape….

October 28, 2010 By Spoonful of Sugar - 19 Comments

I have been busy sewing this week and hope to show you what I have been working on soon. I have also been playing around with my Japanese Masking Tape – adding tape to packaging and cards. I decorated some plain white matchboxes with tape, paper, and ribbon to make some little containers for after dinner chocolates to grace each place setting at a special dinner.

We now have three workstations in the craft room – my kids are often there working on their projects too. I “labelled” my scissors and supplies with some masking tape.

Here is an envelope I made up for a card – love adding a bit of tape to the envelope to finish it off.

I noticed that there is some Cath Kidson Masking Tape available now – I will be definitely searching for this on our next trip to Japan. Who could resist the polka dots and flowers?

Doris from Mamas Kram has made a wonderful set of Christmas Advent Houses using my current favourite colour combination of Red and Aqua. You can see more lovely photos on her blog. I think I may need to make up another set in this colourway:)

Such cute tapes, and adorable ways to use them! I especially love the box for chocolates. I think my family would love to see that at their place setting. How fun to see the tape used for the advent houses too. I bet they were pretty easy to make.

That’s such a good idea, using the tape to mark your tools. The number of fights we have around here ‘Those are my scissors’ ‘That’s my blue texta’ could be severely curbed if all their stuff was identified with different coloured tape. They could even do it themselves, they’d love it. Great idea!

What great ideas. It’s great that you have a craft room that you could share with your children.

The Cath Kidson tape is lovely, I wonder whether we could buy it here in London? Will definately check it out when I go the Cath Kidson Store.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

Lovely! I have just discovered the joys of pretty masking tapes – my first lot has been purchased from Kikki K and has cute apples, strawberries and stripes on the rolls. The possibilities are endless!

I just can’t get enough of your Christmas houses, whatever the color combo… I was planning on making a pocket advent calendar this year, but may have to do the houses, too. I did finally manage to track down the magazine you were published in in my tiny corner of NW USA – woohoo! 🙂

Happy February Everyone! Wherever you are in the Happy February Everyone!

Wherever you are in the world, I hope you were able to create your own sunshine today.

This is a throwback photo to 2015 when I made my first ever dresden plate. My technique has improved since then but I still love the colours in this photo. There is something about bright pink and yellow together that makes me happy. Looking forward to the weekend when I get more sewing time.

Please share with me in the comments what sewing techniques you would like to see in my upcoming pattern designs. I love to hear your feedback.
