It has been a year in the making, but I have finally finished my crochet rug. If you follow us on Instagram, you have probably seen progress shots of this rug which I started back in April 2014. It has been a good project to work on in front of the TV at night, in between other projects.
I have had a lot of queries about the crochet pattern used in this project. I found the pattern over on the Dutch blog, Haakkamer 7. The pattern is in Dutch but there is a handy translation guide here. You can find an English translation for the pattern at Garn Studio (it is the large flower motif).
I used a 3.75 mm crochet hook. The yarn I used was Moda Vera Beetle, a cotton/acrylic blend, that is available from Spotlight stores nationally. I found a lovely crochet edging pattern over on Craftsy – Block Edging.
I made 64 squares in green, light pink, dark pink, red, and white. The worst part was stitching in all the yarn ends. I love how pretty and fresh it looks with the white border and edging.
