Chocolate Rough Slice is a delicious tea time treat, Made with a chocolate biscuit base, it has a delicious chocolate and coconut topping.
  • Base:
  • 125 g (4 oz) butter
  • ⅓ cup castor sugar (superfine)
  • ¼ cup coconut
  • 1 cup self raising flour
  • 2 teaspoons cocoa
  • pinch salt
  • Chocolate Rough Topping:
  • 3 tablespoons condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa
  • 1 cup sifted icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
  • 30 g (1 oz) butter
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  1. Base:
  2. Sift dry ingredients into basin, add sugar and coconut; stir in melted butter, mix well. Press into greased and paper lined, lamington tin (7 x 11 inches/ 18 x 28 cm). Bake in moderate oven for 25 mins. Cool slightly on wire rack; cover with Chocolate Rough topping while still warm. Cut into slices when cold.

  4. Combine all ingredients in bowl, mix well.
