Chocolate Rough Slice is a delicious tea time treat, Made with a chocolate biscuit base, it has a delicious chocolate and coconut topping.
Ingredients
Base:
125 g (4 oz) butter
⅓ cup castor sugar (superfine)
¼ cup coconut
1 cup self raising flour
2 teaspoons cocoa
pinch salt
Chocolate Rough Topping:
3 tablespoons condensed milk
1 tablespoon cocoa
1 cup sifted icing sugar (confectioners sugar)
30 g (1 oz) butter
1 cup desiccated coconut
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Instructions
Base:
Sift dry ingredients into basin, add sugar and coconut; stir in melted butter, mix well. Press into greased and paper lined, lamington tin (7 x 11 inches/ 18 x 28 cm). Bake in moderate oven for 25 mins. Cool slightly on wire rack; cover with Chocolate Rough topping while still warm. Cut into slices when cold.
Chocolate Rough Topping:
Combine all ingredients in bowl, mix well.
