Appliqué Pincushion

February 26, 2011 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 36 Comments

It has been far too hot this week to work in my sewing room as it doesn’t have air conditioning. Perth is having the hottest and driest summer on record, and with the hot days expected to continue for at least the next week, it may be a while before I start on any big sewing projects. Last night I decided to do a little bit of appliqué in front of the TV (in air conditioned comfort).

I love my new pincushion. The little toadstool ribbon finished it off perfectly.

Lovely lovely pincushion, it is adorable! Too right about the weather, we’ve had enough now. I just checked outside under the shade and it is 44C out here in the country!!! Time to spray the chooks with the hose again. Hugs, Anita.

Your pincushion is adorable! I love the bright colors and the cheerful applique. I do love to work on applique when it’s too hot to be cooped up in a non-air conditioned space too, so I can relate to that feeling.

The toadstool ribbon is very sweet. It seems strange to hear how hot it is there when we’ve been experiencing highs of about 5 degrees celsius the last few days. At least spring is springing here so hopefully we’ll borrow some of your warmer weather soon 🙂 x

Very nice applique! I’m lucky I have air con in my sewing room! (Just rubbing it in) In fact mine is the only room with air con in the house! Easy to justify when it’s the home business room.
