Pear Crumble is a delicious family autumn dessert. Made with juicy pears poached in maple syrup and cinnamon, and topped with crunchy oat crumble.
Ingredients
4 pears, peeled and sliced
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon water
1 cup rolled oats
⅓ cup plain (all purpose) flour
¼ cup sugar
80 g (1/3 cup) butter, chopped
Instructions
Place pears, cinnamon, maple syrup, water, and 1 tablespoon sugar in a saucepan. Bring to boil, then simmer covered for approximately 5-8 minutes until pears are softened.
Divide pears into 4 ramekins.
To make crumble, mix oats, flour and sugar in a bowl. Add chopped butter and rub in with your fingertips until it resembles a crumble. Cover each ramekin with a few tablespoons of crumble mixture.
Place ramekins in preheated moderate over for 15-20 minutes or until crumble is cooked and golden.
Serve warm with custard.
