Triangle Quilt (Part 2)

March 28, 2014 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 2 Comments

Triangle Quilt 1

I have been working on my Triangle Quilt, using Mormor Fabric, over the past couple of weeks. You can see the initial stages of this quilt over here. I have been asked by some readers to share more of the process so here is an update on where I am up to with the Triangle Quilt.

Triangle Quilt

It is now machine quilted in straight lines, spaced 11/4 inches apart.  This is the first quilt that I have quilted using my new Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.2 that I received as a Christmas gift. The extra throat space really makes a huge difference when quilting. I love the Tie-off function – I am sure I used a lot less thread as a result. It is a lovely machine and sews like a dream.

I found the perfect backing fabric for the quilt- Koi, It’s a Plus. It is a lovely charcoal colour and includes most of the quilt colours in the fabric design. The cross design complements the Mormor fabric. For the quilt binding, I am using Les Amis, Faux Bois in grey which should work well with the natural theme in the Mormor fabric.

Fabric

I hope to find some sewing time over the weekend to trim the quilt to size and start on the binding.

Disclaimer: Thanks to Windham Fabric for providing the Mormor fabric used in this quilt.
