Easy Crochet Scarf {free pattern}

May 26, 2013 By A Spoonful of Sugar - 2 Comments

Each winter, I usually crochet myself a new scarf. It is so relaxing to crochet in front of the television with the heater on. This year I designed an easy crochet scarf that is worked lengthwise. Made with chunky yarn, it consists of 7 rows and can be easily crocheted in a couple of evenings. It features slits in the scarf which add an interesting design element. It is such an easy crochet scarf pattern and is perfect for beginner crocheters.

I used Patons Inca yarn in coral  (approximate 14 ply yarn). It is light and lofty and crochets up beautifully and is extra warm.

If you would like to make your own scarf, I have included the pattern below. Scroll down for both the UK and US versions.

    I made this scarf in red for the “Red Scarf Foster Care” project. Came out great and certainly was easy. The only thing I did different was to single crochet around the outside as it gave the ends a bit more of a clean and sturdy look.
